Tech Justice in Africa
Advancing Tech Justice in Africa examines technology governance across Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, situating contemporary digitalisation within the continent's longer histories of extraction and inequality. African voices and lived realities, of workers, communities, and activists, remain insufficiently centred in policy and legal reform. The report maps regional governance frameworks, identifying where norms are advancing through the African Union, sub-regional bodies, and judicial interventions, and where critical gaps persist. While strategic litigation is gaining ground, enforcement gaps, weak ratification of key instruments, and limited access to remedies continue to constrain tech justice. The findings call for sustained dialogue among stakeholders committed to advancing digital rights, accountability, and equitable technology governance across the continent.

Beyond the Hype: South African Attitudes to AI and the Future
A recent national survey reveals that while AI is a growing topic globally, most South Africans are either unaware of it or have very limited knowledge. The public's perception is largely pragmatic, with hopes for improvements in healthcare and education, but also significant anxieties about job displacement and a loss of human control. The findings highlight an urgent need for accessible, community-based education and policy that directly addresses these fears to ensure AI's responsible and equitable development in the country.
