Africa-Asia AI Policymaker Network
The Africa-Asia Policymaker Network (AAAPoMaNet) is a multi-year initiative that connects policymakers from seven countries; Ghana, India, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda, to foster ross-regional collaboration on responsible AI governance.
The network serves as a platform for peer learning, exchange of national policy developments, and discussion of emerging trends in AI regulation. Through regular engagement, members share strategies, lessons and challenges in building ethical, inclusive, and effective AI ecosystems.
Since 2025, the Global Center on AI Governance has taken over the secretariat role from GIZ. We now lead the coordination of virtual activities and manages the planning and delivery of the network's annual in-person conference.
AAAPoMaNet continues to grow as a trusted space for dialogue and cooperation between Africa and Asia on AI policy, capacity building, and best practices.
