In 2024, the Global Center on AI Governance (GCG) was appointed by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to lead communications for theArtificial Intelligence for Development (AI4D) programme. This role includes managing AI4D’s overall communications strategy and ensuring consistent engagement with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
As part of this work, GCG oversees AI4D’s digital platforms and provides strategic content planning, messaging, and outreach. A core component of the project involved supporting the design and development of two key platforms: the updated AI4D programme website and the AI4D Funders Collaborative website.
AI4D is now in its second phase, expanding across Africa and Asia. The programme focuses on building safe, inclusive, and responsible AI ecosystems that address global development challenges and improve lives. Through this partnership, GCG is helping amplify AI4D’s mission and impact in the AI for development space.
